How to find us
FSD is located in the city of Tampere on Åkerlundinkatu (Åkerlundinkatu 5 B, 4th floor), in the building Virta on the main campus of the University of Tampere. The Virta building is located directly behind the University Library building Linna.

Directions
From the Central Square (Keskustori):
Take bus number 10 (to Järvensivu), 13 (to Hervanta/Hermia) or 22 (to Annala). Get off the bus in front of Tampere Hall, turn left and walk forward 20 meters, until you reach the next street corner. Turn right at the corner and you are now on the street Åkerlundinkatu. Continue walking approximately 150 metres. Entrance to FSD in on your left (the red and white building). FSD premises are on the fourth floor. » Tampere Public Transport.
From the railway station:
Note: Construction work going on near FSD, please prepare for alternate pedestrian routes. When you have left the train and arrived to the railway station hall, walk to the Southern end of the station. There are automated glass doors leading to a tunnel turning left. Go through the doors to the tunnel (this is the railway underpass), and walk to the end of the underpass. Follow Tampere Hall signs to the stairs on your right. (There is also a lift.) Continue straight on, you are now on Ratapihankatu street. Continue until you reach Y-junction and turn left towards Tampere Hall. This is Åkerlundinkatu street. Continue along Åkerlundinkatu, the entrance to FSD is roughly opposite Tullintori mall and a car park. FSD premises are on the fourth floor.
From the bus station:
Go up the street Vuolteenkatu, cross the railway bridge and walk straight ahead to traffic lights. Cross the street and continue approx. 20 metres and turn left to street Sumeliuksenkatu. Continue along it until you reach Åkerlundinkatu (first crossing on the right). Turn to Åkerlundinkatu and enter the first door on the right. FSD premises are on the fourth floor.
If you come by car, follow the signs leading to Tampere Hall (Tampere-talo in Finnish). There are a number of car parks on the street Åkerlundinkatu.
From the Tampere-Pirkkala airport you can get to the city centre either by taxi or by bus number 61 (operated by Väinö Paunu Oy). For Ryanair flights (from Terminal 2) there is a bus service operated by Tokeen Liikenne which has its end stop at the railway station. (See airport transport connections.) If you arrive by bus, get off in front of the bus station or railway station and follow the directions given above. By bus the trip will take about 40 minutes and by taxi approx. 20 minutes or less.
