Life histories of Finnish women, written in their own words about families, jobs, hobbies, crises and dreams. The life stories were sent to a writing competition open to all women and it was organised by the Folklore Archives and the Kalevala Women's Association. The writers were born between the years 1902 and 1976. Most of the stories were written either in prose or verse form, but the data also includes plays, photographs, different kinds of documents and newspaper clippings. There are 567 life histories altogether in the data.
