Weekly supplement NYT of the daily newspaper Helsingin Sanomat
An Internet survey on fatherhood, conducted by a Finnish newspaper just before the Father's Day on 2003. The main themes were the respondents' relationship with own children and father. The respondents were asked, for instance, what activities they did with their children, whether they felt they had learned anything from their children and whether they had punished them. The same questions were asked of the respondent's father. In addition, the respondents were asked to describe the best memory they had of their father and what they would have liked to say to their father at the time of the survey.
Volunteer sample. There were 638 respondents. Background variables included the respondent's gender, age, municipality of residence, profession/education, and whether R himself had children or not. Only the questions that the respondents had answered were included in the data.
