The data contain information on the percentage share of women representatives in national parliaments from the year 1970 to the year 2008. In case of a bicameral parliament, only the lower house is taken into account. The data are based on the results of parliamentary elections. After an election, the percentage share of women is taken to remain the same until the next election or as long as the parliament is operating.
