Aila Data Service is now part of the European Open Science Cloud

The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is a virtual environment that brings European open data services and infrastructures together in one place. Its aim is to offer open and seamless services for storage, management, analysis, and re-use of research data across borders and disciplines. The EOSC is funded by Horizon 2020: the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, but the goal is to create a permanent federated model by the end of the framework programme.

The EOSC Marketplace lists services that are reported by various organisations and infrastructures and meet the EOSC criteria. Users can search and browse for services by category or branch of science, sign in by using their organisation account, add their own projects and select relevant services.

FSD's Data Service Portal Aila is one of the first Finnish services listed in the Marketplace. The Marketplace currently contains nearly 80 services from all over Europe.

FSD is involved in developing European open science services by taking part in the Social Sciences and Humanities Open Cloud (SSHOC) and EOSC Nordic projects.
