ICPSR Method Courses Summer 2001
The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor has arranged summer courses in quantitative research methods since 1963. In the summer 2001 the courses will be held in two four week periods, the first between June 25-July, 20, and the other between July 23 - August, 17. Applications are due on Monday, April 23, 2001. FSD is prepared to assist Finnish applicants financially with the course fees.

IASSIST 2001 Conference in Amsterdam
In Mid-May, the IASSIST (International Association for Social Science Information Service and Technology) will hold its conference of the year 2001 with a theme "Collaborative Working in the
Social Science Cyber Space". Current issues and possibilities for international co-operation will be discussed in the conference. The representatives of the FSD will participate in, among others, a DDI work group and will together with the representative of the Data Archive arrange a work group on availability and documentation of qualitative datasets.
