» ICPSR Direct Service on Trial at the University of Tampere ICPSR Direct Service on Trial at the University of TampereResearchers and students at the University of Tampere are now able to download survey data directly from the ICPSR web pages. Users are required to log in from university computers first time and to create a personal MyData account. ICPSR (Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research) is a vast social science data archive at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. ICPSR archives data from all over the world, but focuses on surveys conducted in the USA and on international comparative studies. Because the FSD is a member of ICPSR, its services are also available to Finnish researchers and students. Media Theme PageA new media theme page has recently been published on the FSD website. It includes plenty of examples on media surveys archived at the FSD. The data are freely available for research and teaching purposes, as well as for studies. The survey data on the media have been classified according to different themes. The main themes include the reliability, impartiality and influence of the media, the role of the media in everyday life, and elections and the media.
