Dataset downloads by type of data 2021-2023
General description
The figure portrays the total number of dataset downloads from Aila Data Service by type of data (quantitative or qualitative) between the years 2021 and 2023. The total number consists of dataset downloads for the purposes of teaching, Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral theses, other research, seminar papers or studying, and other purposes. Downloads of freely available datasets for which the purpose of use is unknown are also included in the total. These freely available datasets are licensed under a CC BY 4.0 license.
The number of downloaded datasets in 2023 was 6,752, compared to 6,314 datasets in 2022. Growth was seen in all categories except for freely available datasets, the use of which decreased in comparison to 2022. The most growth was seen in downloads for the purposes of Master’s theses and teaching.
There was a clear increase in the number of dataset downloads, but the increase was more moderate than the increase from 2021 to 2022.
